Tattoo aftercare is imperative, and you must learn it or at least know the basic procedure on how to take of a fresh tattoo, which will be discussed below.

  1. First of all, you need to buy all the stuff you will need before going to the tattoo parlor. Doing so will prevent your fresh tattoo from getting contaminated and get an infection. You will need: cotton towels, antibacterial soap and premium tattoo aftercare like Afterinked.
  2.  After getting the tattoo, ask your artist to wrap it with cotton bandage. This will absorb excess ink and blood, and allow the fresh tattoo to breathe, which is good in wound healing. Do not peak or show off your tattoo. Go straight home and wait for two hours before removing the bandage.
  3. If the bandage sticks, soak the it with warm water for a few seconds to loosen the dried blood. Carefully pull off the bandage and wash with your antibacterial soap, using warm water.
  4. Then towel dry, do not rub, just pat the towel over the tattoo and air dry.
  5. Lastly, apply a thin layer of your premium tattoo aftercare lotion.
